This blog is the first of a whole series of articles on what causes stress.
How many of you have heard the term: “this is the last straw” or “this is the straw that broke the camel’s back”?
When you think of a piece of straw, it weighs almost nothing. How can something so tiny and so light, break a camel’s back? It could if the camel was already so loaded down, so burdened with straw that truly one more straw could break the camel’s back.
The same thing is true for us when it comes to stress. Most of us are not aware of just how much stress, we actually have. We just go through the days, living our lives the best we can, having one more stress after another added on to us – until we reach the point where our backs our broken and we cease to function.
In my next blog, I am going to include a “Life Stress” test that you can take yourself. It could possibly be the most important test you ever take.
Some people say that ignorance is bliss but that does not apply to knowing what your stress level is. When it comes to stress, ignorance could mean unhappiness, ill health or even death!
