		<description>Sometimes the problem isn&#039;t just stress - it can be a variety of things with TMJ (temporomandibular joint) disorder.. while stress may exacerbate symptoms, it is debated whether stress actually *causes* TMJ disorder (at least to the extent of your example).  There is very little research surrounding TMJ disorder and effective treatments.  Therefore, it is best to exhaust all conservative, non-invasive treatment options before considering surgical or other invasive (orthodontics, crowns, etc) treatments.
As someone with an artificial joint replacement who doesn&#039;t grind her teeth, I think it is unfair to say that resolving stress can completely eradicate pain.. it just isn&#039;t that simple, unfortunately.
