The second negative belief system I had about myself was that I was responsible. it was my job to make my mother happy. As I got older, this transferred to all people. I became a people pleaser and a victim. Everybody else’s needs were more important than my own.
Along with this belief system, came the guilt. If someone needed something, it was my job to find it. If they had a problem, it was my job to fix it. If I couldn’t or didn’t, it was my fault that they were unhappy or failed or whatever.
Again, does this sound familiar to you?
