You have some good points and what I try to do when I am involved with an organization is come from a place where I know I am going to have fun, and it always is.

Sounds very familiar. One thing that helped me as a parent was to check in with my son to see if he was happy or not and why or why not. That kept a great relationship and respectful communication.

I agree with you John, It has been said that the mind can only concentrate on one thing at a time. It makes sense that if you are preoccupied by something that is bothering you that your attention would be lowered for anything else around you.

Maybe part of the problem is that the brain is distracted by the stress issue and this lowers concentration on the task at hand.

It would be interesting to explore whether the distraction of the stress issue has a similar distraction-effect to that of talking on a mobile phone while driving a motor vehicle.

Accidents often result from distraction.

Unfortunately our society -especially the Media - has a lot to do why we don't feel good about ourselves.
But the point is that you and your approach makes you feel good or not that good about yourself.

Sometimes the problem isn't just stress - it can be a variety of things with TMJ (temporomandibular joint) disorder.. while stress may exacerbate symptoms, it is debated whether stress actually *causes* TMJ disorder (at least to the extent of your example). There is very little research surrounding TMJ disorder and effective treatments. Therefore, it is best to exhaust all conservative, non-invasive treatment options before considering surgical or other invasive (orthodontics, crowns, etc) treatments.
As someone with an artificial joint replacement who doesn't grind her teeth, I think it is unfair to say that resolving stress can completely eradicate pain.. it just isn't that simple, unfortunately.
For more information I suggest visiting The TMJ Association: http://www.tmj.org

I came across your website today. I love it. Very well done. While reading through it, I am reminded of a saying that I have tried to live by all of my life which is, “If you really want to do something, you will find a way – if you don’t, you’ll find an excuse.” Keep up the good work.
